2nd semester PFL courses are back

The Portuguese language classes for foreigners have started, once again, in February as part of the second semester courses promoted by the Institute of Culture and Portuguese Language (ICLP).

Since 1934 the School of Arts, currently through the ICLP, welcomes students from all over the world, in these Portuguese as a foreign language courses.

There are already more than 30 nationalities represented in the ICLP courses, in a total of 30 thousand students that are part of our history.

The programs of the Portuguese language courses for foreigners are also elaborated according to the cultural diversity of the classes and structured around the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The teaching methodology of the Institute focuses on dynamic classes and a communicative approach that puts students at the center of learning. This model is only possible thanks to the small groups of 8 to 15 students.

In addition to the classes, the ICLP offers students the possibility of participating in cultural activities that allow them to practice the language outside the context of the classroom and to know more about the Portuguese culture.

Portuguese classes are available at different times: from 8 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 6 pm, in the case of the Annual Course, or from 6 pm to 8 pm, for the evening courses. Students also have at their disposal living spaces, bars, canteens, libraries, computers and privileged access to the facilities of the University Stadium and University medical services.
