ICLP joins the Portuguese universities Consortium with Instituto Camões, to hold distance learning courses in Portuguese language

ICLP is now part of a protocol between six Portuguese universities and Instituto Camões which aims to develop an online summer course in Portuguese as a foreign language, with a joint certification.

Each of the participating universities is responsible for one of the levels offered (A1 – C2) and ICLP will be developing and teaching the C2 level. At the same time, ICLP continues to organize its usual summer course, which is already in its 86th edition.

One of the main goals of this course is to transfer the philosophy of the face-to-face and immersive summer courses to a digital environment, through the reinforcement of the cultural dimension that is so important in traditional summer courses. For that, the modules to be studied will be similar to those offered in the usual courses. There will also be a focus on culture, by promoting interaction with people linked to the cultural scene.

The course will run for 4 weeks, from 28 of June to 23 July and is aimed at Portuguese speakers as a foreign language.

Registrations will take place between the 5 and 28 May. Students may also apply for a Camões scholarship, whose value corresponds to the amount of the tuition fee.

In addition to Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, the higher education institutions that are part of this initiative are Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, Universidade do Minho and Universidade de Aveiro.
