Personal Data Process

ICLP is concerned with the protection of your privacy and it will process and store your personal data as the data controller. All personal data collected will only be used for the purposes of the provision of language teaching services or other services available to you, including, in particular, the following: management of the registration process, communication and information, activities of statistical nature, disclosure of our services. In this respect, we request you to read our Privacy Policy contained herein and give your express consent to the processing of your personal data in case you decide to enrol in one of our courses.

According to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, “GDPR”), personal data means any “information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person («data subject»); and also factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;” – Article 4 (1) of the GDPR.

Examples of personal data are: a) name and surname; b) a residential address; c) an email address such as name.surname@company.com; d) an identity card number; e) location data (for example, the location data function on a mobile phone); f) an IP address  (internet protocol); g) connection reports (cookies).

Examples of data not considered personal data are: a) company registration number; b) an email address such as info@compnay.com; c) anonymised data.

GDPR only validates a Consent of a data subject that is translated into “any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which he or she, by a statement or clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her;” – Article 4 (11) of the GDPR. By accepting this Privacy Policy, the user gives consent in accordance with the Law.  In no situation whatsoever will ICLP transfer your personal data to other entities that are not strictly related to the provision of our services.

In connection to certain tasks related to your registration or acquisition of services we may process your data jointly with other entities (namely, with the Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa – Association for the Development of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon -, for example, for invoicing purposes). Thus, your data may be transferred to this subcontracted entity for the provision of services and may also be transferred to other third parties for the purposes set forth herein and for compliance with statutory obligations.

Certain personal data are essential for the provision of our services (such as, name, date of birth, contacts, photograph, identification number and tax number).  If these data are not provided by the data subjects or proved to be insufficient and/or incorrect, ICLP will not be able to provide their services and the data subject is responsible for the lack or inaccuracy of such data.
