The project LeCIEPLE aims at building a Portuguese Learner Corpus (Portuguese as a foreign Language / Second Language - PFL/L2) which may provide support to research, teachers' training and didactics. This resource also intends to establish the linguistic profile of PFL/L2 learners, which can be used both in teaching and in assessing competences.

The Corpus will be built by a subset of written and spoken texts produced by students of PFL/L2 courses in the Instituto de Cultura e Língua Portuguesa (ICLP - FLUL) and by applicants for examinations in the Centro de Avaliação de Português Língua Estrangeira (CAPLE - FLUL). Each text will have the language profile of its author.
The project is funded by ADFLUL and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. It results from a partnership between several institutions such as ICLP, CAPLE and Centro de Linguística da Universidade de Lisboa (CLUL).
