The Online Portuguese Course is back for its 4th edition. The Portuguese Language and Culture Institute, in addition to the summer course it usually organizes, will be participating in the Portuguese Universities/Camões consortium by ensuring the teaching of the C2 level.

Calendar: June 26 - July 21, 2023
Regime: The online Portuguese course will take place in distance learning mode so that every student can participate, despite their location.
Course load: This level (C2) will have a total load of 70 hours, organized in synchronous and asynchronous sessions:
- 32 synchronous hours
- 38 asynchronous hours
Modules and workload
Module 1 – Portuguese Language
40 hours (20h synchronous and 20h asynchronous)
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 2 pm to 3:40 pm*
Module 2 – Portuguese Culture – Photography
15 hours (6h synchronous and 9h asynchronous)
Wednesday, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm*
Module 3 – Portuguese Culture – Fashion
15 hours (6h synchronous and 9h asynchronous)
Friday, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm*
* Lisbon time zone
Technical requirements: Students must have a personal computer, with an operational camera and microphone, and Internet access compatible with distance learning.
Access conditions: Students will be chosen by taking a Diagnostic Test or by presenting a CAPLE certificate.
Registration: 5 - 21 May
Tuition fee: 300 euros
Students who successfully conclude the Online Portuguese course will be awarded 2 ECTS credits.
Students can apply for a scholarship from Instituto Camões. The scholarship value corresponds to the amount of the tuition fee.
More than two hundred students, from 43 countries on four continents, attended the first edition of the Online Portuguese Language and Culture Summer Course, back in 2020, which resulted from a consortium established between Camões, I.P., and five Portuguese higher education institutions. Numbers have been rising ever since.
